The Lady is a movie inspired by the true story of Aung San Suu Kyi, the Burmese opposition politician and General Secretary of the National League for Democracy (NLD) in Burma, and the holder of numerous international reward,Rafto Prize, Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought, Nobel Peace Prize and etc. She is more or less the Icon of the democracy world and the Human Right movement.
Most of us may know the story happening at Burma through news and paper but you can not really feel the pain and sorrow of Aung San Suu Kyi during her day at promoting democratic at Burma. The pain and sadness of the death of her husband, the loneliness of her 15 years house arrest... The movie is very emotional and I believe it really do a great job promoting the Human Right and Democracy. People will see Burma and Aung San Suu Kyi from a different angle.
Some people might find the movie boring and tend to fall asleep or leave halfway. However when you try to relate the movie, the event that happened to what is happening surrounding you, especially our Malaysia, you might find some motivation to finish the movie. I mention earlier the movie do a great job promoting Human Right and Democracy. Have patient and finish the movie, be inspired and have faith in the journey of true and clean democracy.
