Experience at Malaysia Immigration Office

27/12/2006 1400, I was on my to Immigration office at Damansara to submit my passport application. Before that i heard a lot of bad experience at Immigration Office, especially during passport application. Now i deeply feel the frustration at immigration office.

I reach the office 1400, the office is crowded as usual but what make angry was the staff attitude and how the immigration office being operate. There like 500++ people in the queue and amazing not even half of the counter is being utilized. I overheard some of people waited there since morning. For your information, in order for one to be able to a number for the queue, one must fill up the application form and prepare the necessary documents. One must show the document to the offices a counter and then the officer will give the number. I am deeply felt that resources is not being utilized here. Do you think that we need a people to help us press the number printing machine...

After getting my number, I need to wait for 200++ people before reaching my number and its take 5 – 10 minutes for a office to settle an application. Do a simple math and one will be surprise. After 3 hours of waiting impatiently and flatted my phone battery to play the game inside. Its my turn to submit my application. I though this is the end of my nightmare. So the officer took my thumb print and receive the form, i was asked to sit and wait. At that point i wanted to scream out loud but i manage to control my temper. I need to queue again to pay the application fee of RM 300. ah ah ah .... I waited another hour, pay the money and quickly leave the office before i loose control...

Two days later, i went back to the immigration office to take my passport. I told myself this should be a quick process yet in reality, its took me another 3 hours just to get my passport. I think after the first experience I have become more patient and in control. But still this is not acceptable. Resource is not being utilize and a lot of redundant process, totally not acceptable, totally not cool at all.

At this computerized age, a lot of process is being computerize and automated. The government wish to have a paperless working environment and looking at the immigration office I deeply felt that even if given 10 years its won't realize the dream. Citizen time and money is wasted and government resource is not being utilize. Redundant process. Is the immigration department trying to improve their service? Are they trying hard?

Tips for the first timer who is getting a new passport.

  1. Prepared the application form and the necessary document. With the document you won't able to get the queuing number. Photostat service and photo can be done at the shop below immigration office. (of course i mean at Damansara)

  2. The queuing might take hours and you will definitely feel hungry and dehydrated. Prepare light food and water.

  3. You might need to take 2 day leave if you are working, 2 full day.

  4. Good luck

Sabuti, A Burmese Traditional Food

I came across this stall at the restaurant opposite Pudu Plaza. A typical Chinese restourant selling typical Malaysian food, watan mee, porridge, pan mee, and etc. Then something caught me, some Burmese selling something call Sabuti. From far it look like porridge. When I get a closer look at it, it is soup, like the Indian ox tail or chicken soup. My curiosity tell me to try it. I sit down and order 1 portion. They serve with salt and MSG. An extra RM 1 you will get the fried beef with chili and onion, I warm you...is super hot..at least for my standard. After my first sip and I know why they serve the salt and MSG. The soup is plain, pretty plain in taste. One might enjoy it but not me. I prefer my soup to be a bit "spice". I added the salt and MSG and the soup taste better. Please note this is not a healthy way of eating soup. Don't try it too often :D The ingredient inside the soup, beef and corn. Simple but filling and I can understand why the soup is plain in tast

Movie - Madagascar 3:Europe's Most Wanted

Alex, Marty,Melman, Gloria is setting up to their next adventure and this time the party landed on Europe. They meet new friends at the circus and enemy, the Paris animal control, and has been travel across France, Rome, London and and return back to the big apple, New York City, Central Park Zoo. Again, the movie bring us a lot of laughter and joy. Marty will always so some silly thing, Alex will always save the day will some silly move, and Gloria and Melman will always silly and in love. I love this movie because beside the fun and joy the movie bring, the movie will always carry a positive message of true friendship and family value. I think I like this sequel the most and really touch by the scene when the they return to Central Park Zoo, a place where they called home and realizing they don't fell they are at "home". They suddenly felt that they don't belong to the zoo, they really belong to the their new family at the circus. The circus is the place where
